The Rohingya refugee crisis is worsening and is affecting the Bangladesh host communities, according to IC Net’s Assessment conducted in December of 2017.
In Bangladesh, there are nearly 1 million Rohingya Muslim refugees who have fled from Myanmar, due to villages being razed by the military, police and local villagers in the Rakhine State.
While harsh living conditions in the refugee camps are being reported in the news, not much has been reported on the state of the Bangladeshi host communities. In its first survey, IC Net investigated the current state of the Bangladeshi host communities such as Ukhiya and Teknaf, in Cox’s Bazar.
The report entitled “Initial Findings: Impact on the Host Communities Affected by the Rohingya Crisis” is the first report on The Survey on the Host Communities in Cox’s Bazar Affected by the Rohingya Crisis and can be found here.
