The Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office of Japan commissioned IC Net to carry out research on women entrepreneurs who bridge Japan and other countries through their business since 2016. The research involves interviewing and analyzing data from 16 entrepreneurs from eight countries as well as 10 entrepreneurs from Japan about their business, career path and challenges they face.
This research will bring out unique insights into women entrepreneurs’ opportunities, obstacles, and their inspiration to work on social enterprises. A special focus is placed on gender- specific challenges, which will be classified into six categories and then analyzed. The results of the research will be shared at the symposium slated for November 2018.
