In Cambodia, JICA had provided a capacity development to the the Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MOWA) to develop and implement policies with gender perspectives; to introduce PGM method (Project cycle management with gender perspectives) and to establish Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) at the MOWA to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.

This Project aims to improve the gender mainstreaming mechanism in order to strengthen public service delivery capacity to promote WEE at sub-national level by the partner ministries and departments through advocacy and coordination by MOWA and the Provincial Department of Women’s Affairs (PDWA).  To that end, IC Net is strengthening the capacity of MOWA, PDWA and partner ministries/departments in gender mainstreaming, by piloting the gender mainstreaming mechanism in several provinces in supporting women in business.
